We knew we’d have our hands full with a fast and talented Holy Trinity team. They struck first to go up 6-0. The biggest play of their drive was a fumbled snap that turned into a 25 yard gain. We didn’t wait long to strike back with a long run right up the middle, the extra point put us up 7-6. We scored again right before half to extend our lead to 15-6. Holy Trinity got the ball first to start the second half but our stingy defense would not allow them to go anywhere. The defense suffocated HT’s speed all day. We took the rest of the third quarter to methodically drive the ball down the field to score one last time and ice the game, 21-6. The offensive line took over the game on that drive. Our entire team gave an excellent effort, the scoreboard showed it. Great job guys!! Keep up the good work! Thanks to all of our fans, we could certainly hear your support!
Great start to the season with a win over a very tough St. Martha team. Though the score was low, winning 6 - 2, the team hit on a lot of cylinders.
Today we faced the team that beat us in our Jamboree game. Our kids were focused and ready for the rematch. The outcome would show. Riding a two game winning streak, we looked to score early and often . Everyone executed their assignment and result was great. The kids played their best game of the season by blocking hard, running hard, and executing all their plays. Our offense moved the ball well and our defense had several big stops.
Today our boys decided to duplicate the efforts of last week. We over powered St. Raphael on both sides of the ball. We were hitting hard on defense and blocking great on offense. For the 2nd week in a roll we played just like we practiced and the outcome was our 2nd victory in a roll.
We had a great week of practice to prepare for this game. We got together as coaches and went back to the basics... teaching fundamental football. Our blocking, tackling and running was vastly improved. Our guys stayed in their positions and trusted each other a little more. The result was a good win that we hope will carry on to next week.
